ASOLO — AFS 8000

The Asolo AFS 8000 boot is suitable for altitudes over 5000m, winter and ice climbing. This boot is a firm favourite of the Boot Room staff in Hathersage who find it fits a large variety of foot shapes, has a rugged build quality and good climbing precision. The Vibram sole on the boot is not massively thick and therefore offers a low profile. The sole of the boot is also flat, with no camber which makes walking on solid ground that little bit harder than with a cambered boot. However this thinner sole unit and lack of camber on the sole mean that for precision when climbing the AFS 8000 beats many other plastic mountaineering boots hands down. The boot does not feel clunky or unwieldy like many plastic mountaineering boots. Comfort in the boot is also maintained by a heel shock absorber that offers high impact parts of the foot protection. The removable inner boot is made from Velveteen and Thinsulate which offers good insulation and dries quickly.

  • INNER BOOT Velveteen + Thinsulate
  • ASOFRAME Pebax
  • ANATOMIC FOOTBED AFS
  • SOLE Vibram nilgiri dual-color
  • FIT MM
  • WEIGHT Gr 1.200 (1/2 pair size 8 UK)
